    Hi,

go to http://www.reslers.de and look for the "IBus stuff".
There you'll find some information on the Interface.

Go to http://www.creative-nightshifts.de/carx.htm and look around. Watch the movie if you want, download the soft and play with it.

Then go to http://www.varan.org and have a look around. Download all the stuff that Detlef offers (Varan, the IBus-Monitor, and all the sourcecodes) and see how the Bus codes are mapped.

Then you should have an overview how the connection between a computer and the IBus works.

Hope this helps a little bit.

Thanks. Real helpful info on teh Ibus.

Gork: i was wondering if i could get the source code for the wheel key app that you made. Most people are referring me to hack the ibus site and I only need a small app that tells my volume and track keys on the steering wheel what to do on the PC. Did you say you still have this? Any help on this would be great. I have searched high and low for something like this.

    jedi7001:

Enough people have been asking for this that I'm going to get the little app finished up. I got windows working on my carpc again to try some other GPS software, frodoplayer, and finish the wheelkey app.

I have a working binary (working being a barely relevant term) .. it crashes if you dont press a wheel button every 10 minutes, and it only works for the volume buttons and only on e46 Anyway, the main problem is that the source code copy I have does not even work.

I will finish this up before the weekend, as I intend to use it on a 3 1/2 hour trip I'm taking on saturday.

GORK....you do not know how happy I am to hear this. This is the missing link in my car pc plans for my E46. I really appreciate the extra effort. A simple wheel key app would rock. I think it would be nice to assign the R/T and "speach" button to something like... "directory up" and "directory down or eneter" so you can move in and out of folders while the up and doen buttons move through each file.

    Thanks again gork. you ROCK!

    hifiguy....

I am not too jealous of most peoples BMW since i just bought a 2004 330i sedan (check out my thread, i will be adding more posts) but MAN, your M3 really is sweet. I have to admit it is one of the best lookin on I have seem. I like you website. It shows how proud you are of that machine. Was it hard to set up a site with the Gallery software? I am not much of a website guy so is it pretty simple to set up?

    jedi7001,

thanks for the compliments, coming from a fellow BMW driver it means that much more. i also gotta say i dig your black 330i, the tinted windows look good on it, 35%?

the gallery software is pretty easy to setup, just make sure your server supports php. after that, it's such a snap to upload pics, create directories, etc. you should definitely add it to your site so that we can see even more of your pics!

PM, aim, or icq me. btw, where in AZ are you? i just had some cousins move to tucson and might go visit them sometime soon.

Gork, how did you extend your lilliput wiring to reach from the front to the back where your CPU was? Did you use the DIN side or the 15-Pin/USB side?
