My car is fairly similar to yours, can you go into more detail on the wiring for the power? and how are you coping with the cup holder lid and lower din mount? I think im gonna have to mount an after market cupholder somewhere.

Well I don't use the cupholder anymore... Well just for change.. What I like is that you can open it and it will cover up the HU... It would be stealthy if not for the screen

As far as the power goes I ran 4AWG power to the trunk and into a distro block. Then I took 1 4AWG to my amp and one to a distro block/reducer for the inverter.

What is this camera stuff I'm hearing about? How does it work. I have a webcam I've pondered slapping into my car. As well as an old Sony handy cam with night shot. If I could find somewhere to put it, I could get night vision on my LCD

I wrote some software which works with logitech quickcams. It is a standalone app which allows you to record video and take pictures and cycle cameras. I never got it to work right with mediaengine or mediacar. I think it is the way they spawn an external process that causes the camera activeX control not to function. I have put it on hold until those issues get resolved.

The post for it with a link for download are in the mediaengine forum.

If you look under the battery tray there should be a rubber plug in the firewall with nothing running through it. I ran my wire through a hole I cut in this plug which lets the power wire come in on the passenger floor. I then ran it back the passenger door molding and under the rear seat into the trunk.

I used the cupholders from a 96-98 civic. If you look at a friend's car or at one of those years you will notice the cup holder actually has a spring loaded door on it. When you press it is rises to reveal your cup holders. It also has a mounting location for a single din unit.
