Ok, finally worked out how to send images and also proud enough to show off my install.
I've been messing with vanputer for around 5 years, first year, a laptop at the side of me and a Garmin GPS on the dash. Then onto an on-dash 5.6" screen and laptop under the passenger seat. Finally I have a shuttle and a 5.6" TSK in dash screen and all the remote stuff sorted. Here's the spec and the pics.

how do you like the digitalww touch screen on a small screen like that? I have a gamevue i was thinking of throwing together.
I was going to purchase one and emailed them couple weeks ago on a question but they didnt even respond,, imagine that![]()
I'm impressed with the TSK, it works a treat.
As for DigitalWW, well that's another story, I try to reach him by phone now and then and also see if he's logged into the forum and then PM him.

Hmm... Nice install.
I would have thought the power inverter would have put a fair bit of heat into the Shuttle, no?

:google:
Not really, its quite an old shuttle - PIII, and the PSU is only 100W, the inverter is capable of 300W. The inverter fans tend to get noisy and need replacing, I'm on my second one now.
But thevan is such a noisy enviroment anyway, I don't get Hi-fi quality sound, just something to listen to as well as GPS. Which is the main reason for building it in the first place.

Nice looking setup. Might be nice if you could find switches that match a little better, but those are just details. Nice work.
Yeah, unfortunately getting switches and stuff to match when they are all for different things is tricky. I would have preferred to get toyota switches (and I still might) for all the functions. But as the modulator is being taken out soon, the red toggle can go, so can the 12V power socket and composite video feed (they were for a monitor on the dash).
So that leaves me with a switch to power the system and a momentary for rebooting occasionally. And a couple of blanks for the old switches and sockets
I'm sure the Toyota spares catalogue would have all the neccessary, I have to change my head unit for one with an aux input.

Hello,
Just when I thought the I coined a new word, "vanputer". I read this post LOL. I was impressed with your vanputer. Good job. I am in the final stages with my vanputer. I installed it in a full size Dodge Ram Van. I am new to this whole forum thing so I do not know how to link to my introductory post but if you search "vaputer" and look under the one with Dodge Ram Van B250 in it's title, that is mine. I recently added pictures to the post but I am waiting on the moderator to post them.
