I have used the mouse with no problems with Destinator 2 and MapPoint/AutoRoute (on a friend's computer). Not tried any more, but with those it was almost perfect

I got mine from GPS Warehouse for 103.99 including shipping. It's only got the USB connection, you specify whether you want USB or serial. You can also get connections for most PocketPC platforms, available probably direct from RoyalTek.

    Looks fantastic!
I wish I could do something like you did with the CD. I haven't got the room and have not convinced myself to buy another car for this project yet. Your's looks awesome, which screen did you use and how bright is it, if someone hasn't already asked....

It's the Xenarc (GAIN) 700TS, but the newer one with the uprated brightness module. Most of the time during the day I can see it well, unless sunlight is shining right on the screen, it then reflects the view from the passenger seat due to the touchscreen overlay. At night, however, it is nice, and is bright enough without being blinding. I think if it was any brighter, I would have trouble keeping my eyes from being drawn to it. But as it's low down enough, it's only in my peripheral vision, not distracting at all, no more so than normal headlights in the rear-view mirror

Nice install in the cabin, but I would look to tidy up behind the scene.

And as had been said before get that drive mounted properly

PS, would suggest you erase you number plate when posting pictures of your car, you never know who's looking in

Update: Glad to see you took my advice

I've got the same monitor but decased and installed into one of Armen's TM701L indash case's. I don't have the brightness upgrade and during the day, I can just barely read the monitor. did you find the upgrade helped alot? It seemed like alot of money for an already expensive monitor. I was thinking of installing darker tint on my windows and a blind on the rear plastic window. I bought the fabric but haven't gotten around to it yet. Anyway, cool install, maybe when I get everything mounted the way I want it and all the wires stowed, I'll post some pictures also.

    chut,

I'm pretty certain it had the brightness upgrade, but direct from Xenarc. In direct sunlight, it is pretty bad. Anything that's not direct sunlight is not too bad, it's still pretty good. I'm not sure what it would be like if it was any darker.

I am still considering tinting my windows, not only for the display, but I think it looks nice having tinted windows on a white car!

    That is a beautiful install.

Regarding the GPS, that looks awesome with its 3D view. Is the software provided with the GPS mouse, or do you pay for it separately? Subscription based or one time fee?

The software is Destinator2, which is bought seperately. It is a one-off payment for that, just to buy it

They are releasing v3 of it sometime soon, I might be upgrading to that, it adds some nice functions

Check out Destinator's website for info
