Good job for the first try. I would strip the paint down and bust out the sand paper some more and finish it a little nicer. I don't mean to bag on your install but it looks a little rough around the edges. You need to bust out the 600grit and get down with your bad self.

I just did the same thing to my dash. I was going for a total oem look. I have it installed and i keep noticeing some flaws so it's back to the bondo and sanding.

Matching the color was the hard part. I ended up using hobbie paints and an airbrush. I was able to get very close to the original color but that was after 6 coates so the finish is kinda chunky. I will be redoing mine soon After the Bay Area Meet

My install is about 95% done. It's working but I'm still testing it out and thinking of what I can do to make it better. I've also got a d-link fm on the way and havn't installd my GPS yet. But like I said, it's working and I like it so far.

You're right. I should bondo and sand more. I just got tired and lazy and thought it looked good as is. But I think I'm going to do it any way. I'm also going to get rid of the front lilliput buttons and just the remote handy. Thanks for the input.

I forgot to mention, I don't have a website up or anything. I used have one a few years ago and just got fed up with it's upkeep. As far as the info is concerned, just ask and I or someone would be happy to help. I got 99% of my questions answered by searching this site or .
Believe me, I was a little scared at first to BONDO. I hadn't even heard of it before. Now I want to bondo everything and am even thinking of building an MP3 Jukebox for my Gameroom.

ok, I'm planning on doing something similar with a '01 Ex Sport (which is basically the exact same thing as a sport trac). The thing is, I'm not so sure about ditching my OEM radio to put the screen there. I was thinking of mounting the system inside the arm rest compartment and putting the screen in below the AC controls, but now you've got me thinking about other options. How did you get the console apart anyway? I haven't tried yet since I've been worried about breaking something. Vehicle interiors are like chinese puzzle boxes at times... if you know the trick it's simple to open something up, otherwise you just rip it apart and ruin it.
