Would sound better if you did RF modulator for it plus no wire running out of the glove box across you dash. They are fairly inexpensive as well.
Here is my Install
My car is a Lexus IS200 SE UK Spec
A 7" Touch Screen LCD, same as Xenarc from Cartft.com.
Im really need to house the screen!!
And here is my DVD Rom Drive.
All the Computer Parts are in the Glove box and it comprises of:
VIA 1Ghz Mini ITX mother board
256 MB PC2100 Ram
7" TFT Touchscreen VGA Monitor
2.5" 40Gig hard drive
Toshiba Laptop DVD rom drive
60 watt morex 12V power supply
ITPS controller
windows XP
Media Engine software
No GPS as yet as I really cannot find any decent Software for use in the UK yet
Sound for the moment is wired thru the stock headunit using a crappy Tape adapter as the Lex Headunit does not have an AUX In. On the plus side tho, it sounds pretty good as the cars Factory unit with amp and 8 speakers really sounds amazing. Im sure it would be much better with a line in tho![]()
This Forum has really been a great help in setting up my install, Thanks for all the posts that have helped me get to where my install is today![]()

I have used RF in the car before it was a Kenwood unit, was really poor, the tape adapter is 120% better sounding to me
I was wondering for the longest time if a Xenarc screen would fit into the JDM Nav housing. It is expensive to try, though.
There is a way to add an AUX-IN, but it somewhat works.
The best way would be to dump the stock HU, AMP, rear speakers and get aftermarket ones.
P.S.
Nice Car.
<----- does that look familiar?
P.P.S.
You should've used masking tape around the dash area. It's all scratched up now.

Im looking at ways in which to motorise the screen so that it folds away, the screen will fit perfect in the nav surround if its face down!! I also have a JDM Dash Tray but the Xenarc is too big to fit into the dash tray![]()
Then the only other option is the JDM Nav housing. It is motorized. There are instructions on how to wire it. However, the price is US $650-$900. Eventually, I will try it out, when I am ready for a dual-monitor setup. It will be a long time before I do.
awesome...i got an 02 IS300 a month ago, and have been watching on the boards to see if anyone has done an install yet. Looks pretty good. I love this car.
either of you have more pics??
ive done a install as you can see

Does anyone know how to get a signal into the standard nav screen? Can the standard nav screen be removed and replace with a 7" tft?
