There is a mounting plate that is a perminant part of the door in the front doors. In the back there are plates that are removable (if I remember right there are rivits back there that you have to drill out) If you have the same model VW that I do, then you do NOT have to replace anything other than the speakers. For the tweeters, you just have to remove the tweeter pods and pull the tweeter out the back and put a new one in. Pretty simple actually, just get in there and pull it apart.

im also interested in the pics... even if the setup still isnt in the car, it would be cool to see for ideas!! tia!

ok - well for some reason I can't seem to find the final pics that I had up here at one time.

Here are some pics of the system though, I have also included the tweeter pods since there was some question on them. These have been remolded, keep that in mind. Also, since I have gotten numerous emails on how to make the screen the way we did, I have included a pic of how we started it.

I have also included a pic of the system without a flash with the white LEDs on.

Great job on the install. Just one question, could you take a picture of the dash set-up from right in fornt of it? I wanted to see the detail of the work.

I can do that when it's all done, am putting a layer of rage on the screen housing right now...

there will be more to the dash than just the screen, a din sized face plate will be going below in a custom molded center console piece. That face plate will be for the PXA-H700 processor....THAT'S going to be the time consuming part of this project....lol
