Yes indeed ... wood and bondo go a long way. Just be prepared to sand more than you ever have in your life and to make a huge powdery mess ;-)

Take it easy on that dremel with the router attachment though. I used it to make the frame for my LCD ... it was just some cheap pine trin wood from the depot ... anyway ... first one went ok, but the second one burned up my dremel :( luckily I had a friend who worked at depot and she hooked me up with a new one (yes I had to turn my old one in, she didn't steal it for me)

Indeed. I read about the path restriction on gallery's site. So I went into gallery config and changed the temp directory from i think it was /home/jacksha/public_html/gallery/tmp to /usr/local/tmp (or something close to that ... whatever the global temp dir is) ... but the errors didn't disappear. You'll notice if you refresh the page the errors don't show. Don't know what that's about.

since I don't have ssh access to that box my troubleshooting options are rather limited.

I may try turning off the warnings like you suggest. I didn't realize that was an option ... I'll give it a go in a bit.

Love the install shakes. Currently I am gathering parts for my 2000 Cherokee install. Have the PC and Inverter at home, now looking for a cheap screen to play around with. All these Jeep installs in the forum keep me motivated to work on mine.

That istall is just DECKED-OUT-CLEAN!!
I like how you fit the screen for real... it looks very neat and really close to being stock!

Thanks ... that's the look I was going for. :cool:

I have a few issues with the bondo cracking at the seems of the screen mount ... but I should be able to repair it and keep it from cracking again.

Other than that it's been solid for over a year.

Using bondo or are you thinkin' alternatives... maybe Fiberglass??

it really looks good from the pics though, and I'm feeling the armrest for the PC... If I hadn't gone for a M-ATX board, it would've been one of my options to locate the board as well.

well the cracks are in the lower corners where the wooden frame that holds the screen comes together ... it cracked once and I repaired it with bondo. It cracked again, but less this time. So I was considering sanding it down to the wood, using small patches of fiberglass over the seams, then bondo. that should do it.

I did use 'bondo glass' but it still cracked.

the armrest worked out well ... but I have to be careful leaning on it too hard or I hit the power switch and the PC shuts off :-(

I did like this in my Grand Cherokee. Not complete install yeat.

one question .... where are the buttons for the screen ???

i just taped them to the rear of the screen housing so they were still connected to the control board but hidden away. also i relocated the ir received to below the steering wheel.

i don't have this install anymore by the way.

question, did you move everything on your dash down? because my 2000 grand cherokee is only a din and a half and that looks more like a 2 din.
