Well yet another update.. I'm trying to get the screen mounted this weekend, waiting for the paint to dry on an accessory piece and get some cables. Pertinent parts of the background have been blocked out as to receive a G rating

Amazing work, It looks like it came from the factory.. What materials did you use exactly? Is it all bondo? Any closer up shots of how you finished off the HVAC and radio area? (if its done) I got a 7" lilliput in the GTP which I just made a bracket for and mounted it in front of the vents.. I like it there cuz its nice and high up, but it looks crappy and blocks my vents.. I have an 8.4" screen in my Camaro but I'm considering replacing it because it doesnt turn on sometimes and the touch is off for some reason and I can't figure out why the calibration won't work. Any problems with your screen? I may consider that one..

    Yet another update...

Added pictures of dash installed and Zippy EL-610 mounted in sun visor. Tried to keep oem look as much as possible on it but the fabric wasn't long enough in some spots. so up toward the top/center it's kinda bleh. You can also see the cable running underneath the carpet, should ran it in the gap... hindsight 20/20 syndrome!

    Slayer: thanks
That picture is revision #8974890734897387904384. It's REALLY hard to work with our dash because of the type of plastic it is. I had no luck with fiberglass kept peeling. I descided to try bondo and it seems to do the job but I know it's not "permanent" and can start cracking. I was going to send it to another member here to do it with plastic molding but I was so close and I just wanted to finish. If this doesn't work out I buy another dash and screen and send it to him

I went this route because I don't like the screen away from the dash... looks bleh to me. At this point the console piece is not done. I still have to fully mount the HVAC and make a new overlay for it and the shifter. Probably be a short while I think I need a break I'll update this thread as I progress.

I LOVE my lilliput. I haven't had it long but it's a fantastic screen big thumbs up all around. I purchased it from cartft.com because we get an mp3car discount. They've been great!

Click on his cardomain link in the sig and page #4..

Well it still came out looking good so hopefully it lasts for you.. I will have to see about getting one of those screens sometime in the future.. If I'm crazy enough I may buy one soon, but I really need to rebuild the tranny in the camaro and stop spending money on my stereos

I've been wanting to do the exact same thing with the keyboard! Problem was the keyboard doesn't fit in the visor on the Camaro cuz they are so tiny in tere.. The visor is the perfect spot, its out of the way and with a little flip there it is.. I'll pulling my GPS receiver out of the camaro and it's going in the GTP beacuse it's my daily driver and just makes more sense for it to be in there.. The keyboard I have is a slim mini USB one I bought from newegg and looks strikingly similar to yours except its dark greyish/purple buttons and has USB ports on the top of it, it'll fit in the GTP visor no problem..

Sorry bout the bad links, I forgot the DNS is in transition so they only worked for me. Fixed links. They should all be working. They are only 320x240 per board rules, however the pictures on cardomain are 640x480.

Yeah I picked mine up from newegg as well. It's the EL-610 Mini USB. It's a great spot for the reasons mentioned. It's a little awkward though. I probably will use the on screen keyboard through the touchscreen most of the time. I wanted a "real" keyboard though for just in case. I didn't want it floating around or in my glovebox cause I have plans for that too.

@gibsonian - use an FM modulator for that (make sure you don't get one of those crappy wireless ones - get a wired device for best results)

As for the car - looks awesome! I love the way the screen fits is so perfectly.
