[QUOTE=war085;1403496]I changed the front speakers with kenwood ones keeping the exact size but higher rate (100W), upgraded the rear to 6x9" Kenwood 400W, plus one subwoofer in the trunk 1000W Kenwood. All powered by one Kenwood amplifier 600W that controls the front and rear separately (gain, LPF, HPF, etc..) and the sub.

lets say the amplifier is 4 channels
two of them will go to the subwoofer
how can you connect the four speakers to the two channels ?
about the gps its the only step left i still cant find proper software
The amplifier have 4 inputs (2 front and 2 rear) and 4 outputs plus a bridged output.
Now, u have one line coming out of the laptop, u have to split every channel into two using this "Y" channel splitter
Those 4 channels will go into the input of the amplifier.
The output is divided into front and rear. Now u have two options:
1- Connect all 4 speakers to the front and enable the HPF on the front. And connect your subwoofer bridged to the rear output and enable LPF.
2- connect the front speakers to the front output + enable HPF, and connect the rear speakers and the subwoofer bridged to the rear. U can use a capacitor before the subwoofer to act like a LPF to avoid distorted bass.
I am using the 1st setup and I'm happy with it. U can always control the gain of the front and the back separately from the ampl.
btw my amplifier is a sony xplode not kenwood. I'm using this one.
thanks very much for the information i was afraid to burn the amplifier .
i will try it and let you know afraid wouldnt be before the end of this month till i go back to Egypt ... my beamer must b crying for me in the garage ;d
i think someone needs his own thread :P
dont worry most new amplifiers can support low impedance. Go back to ur bimmer and get a GPS antenna with u .. they r not available here !!
it's all about exchanging information isn't it ? All our setups were inspired from this thread, we are happy here :P
