Hello mate , we are doing a similar install on a 318 at the moment and we wanted to do the same as you and move the aircon unit down to the bottom. The problem we have is there seems to be a large plastic box/cover behind that part of the dash with what appears to be two thermometers/thermostats installed. Do you have this in yours? If so how did you get around it?

    Many thanks,
    Mark

Oh, by the way, Top install!! :-)

You have to remove most of the back of the climate control.

The climate control has two circuit boards, one vertical which has the buttons and display and the other has the fan attached and horizontal, you have to move the horizontal one down under the switch panel.

    Not for the faint hearted.

Do you have pictures and detailed instructions of how you did this?
I want to go along a similar route with my car and any info you can give would be a great help.

    Unfortunately, not at the moment.

I will try to take some photos over the next week as I shall be digging in behind the dashboard sometime during the week.

If you could get pics it would be a great help although it will probably be hard now as everything is installed...

    Thanks,
    Mark

Hey enforcer, Have you had a chance to take any photos or write up a quick outline on what you did? Sorry if I'm busting chops, but would be a great help

Where'd you pick up the battery power from in the trunk? Did you just steal it from the factory amp, or use the one from the cd changer, or run a whole new wire?

The battery for my car is in the boot (trunk) so I just tapped into it there (fused of course).
