should it be ok to take the main power from cigarette lighter cables?
i noticed that the screen went crazy/white during the engine start... perhaps that is not so good place then?
which radio should people use i e36? it has the antenna amp installed, so it should work with most tuners?

It's not usually recommended to take power from a cigarette lighter circuit.

I take mine directly from the battery.

For radio I currently use the HU, but have a DAB/FM one on test. SHould be testing in the car this week.

    e36 cRPUTER

this is my DIY carputer for my precious E36 however it still needs some modifications like the LCD bezel frame i still have some questions for experts ?

why in most diy the back of the LCD is removed ?
i want to connect the PC directly to OEM speakers and cant install aftermarket amplifier as it will burn my low impedence speakers . any ideas ?

It's normally easier to fit in, especially with the E36, if you keep the back of the case on it's too low.

You need to check whether your current HU has a line in.

Why would you do that ?! the PC sound card will be very poor in a car. I changed my oem speakers, actually this is an E36 .. speakers are almost 14 years old .. they should be changed anyways!
