jspeeder9: As you have gone Headunitless, do you a tuner in the PC (sorry didn't notice).

I'm seriously considering selling the old Saab Trubo, and getting either a gen 4 Prelude VTEC, or a Saab 9000. One has rrom, and loads of Torque, the other has a lot smaller footprint, but they wicked VTEC engine.

Leaning toward the prelude more ATM as I don't need such a big car. Was definatley thinking about using the double din, for the screen, but want to keep a headunit, if I can. Any advice?

I also need to get a new FM Tuner since the D-Link isn't up to par.

Funny, both GM owns Subaru and Saab now.
The new Saab 92-X is a Impreza WRX wagon with HID headlamps and luxury.

I guess it's a Saabaru now. lol They need a 92-X STi with 300 HP. Then I'll sell my STi and get that.

    Yeah, 'tis true.
The general concensus amongst older Saab drivers is that with the Saabaru (yes they use it too) models in the US, and the watering down of the brand in Europe with GM lumping it into the Opel headquarters along with Vauxhaul, and removing all design oportunities from Saab, they are killing the brand.

Those that have driven the 9-2x rated it as a car, but not as a Saab, they said it was an improved WRX, not a Saab, on the flipside, GM are planning the badge the new Subaru XUV as a Saab too, about a year after the Subaru launch, and Subaru Dealers are really ****ed about it, after waiting years for a brand new model, that they knew would sell well, and spending a fortune on refurbing dealer ships to make sure they got it, they only get a year before Saab get a clone to sell alongside the GM SUV based 9-7. Bad **** going on in the GM camps, they all feel they are getting shafted.

My friend had the Saab 93 Turbo the blue one with the radioactive symbol on it.

That's the only saab I really liked, the others aren't performance oriented enough and Saab was the only company to not offer a AWD vehicle for very long. I think.....

Yeah, that would be the 9-3 Viggen (named after the Saab Viggen Jet fighter) very fast car). And you are right, they were the only ones not using AWD/4WD on a fast hatch/Sedan/Saloon. Although they did work with TrollSpeed and Prodrive to produce a couple of rally cross 9-3's and Pikes Peak 9-3's putting out between 5 and 600 BHP through an AWD system, all from a tuned 2.3 litre turbo engine.

There were several H.O.T(high output turbo) models on the 9-3 range, along with Carlsson (in europe), Talledega (in US) and Aero 9000 models, and Taledega and Aero new style (like the 9-3) 900's, plus Aero and Carlsson models in the classic 900 like I have. In the US the Aero and Carlsson models were refered to as various different variations on the SPG and Airflow models. The Carlssons where named that in europe after Eric Carlsson Saab rally veteran, and the Aero name couldn't be used in the US intially because it was trademarked by GM. That isn't a problem now though

But getting back on topic, tell me more about CarPC's in Preludes. I've figured pretty much how I would get one in a 9000 if that is the route I take (3 din slots if I lose the Ashtray/lighter), and think I have sussed how to get one into an AlfaRomeo 155, but I really want to try and find a Prelude and do a kick *** install system using my Blaupunkt Modena if the Honda AUX adaptor system isn't usable.

Skraggy_uk: Currently, I don't have a tuner installed on my CarPC setup but I'm in the process of getting one...soon. I'll probably try the Hauppauge WinTV-USB-FM for my setup. As far as fitment goes, there's prenty of room to work on in the console if you eliminate the cigarrete lighter and ash tray.

    Hmm maybe not.
I'm a fairly heavy smoker, so even if I could ditch the ashtray, I would need to keep the lighter.
