Well, in preparations for my new motherboard decided to ditch my inverter which was giving me tons of trouble. I decided, what the hell, I'm getting a new mobo anyway, let's fry the old one. So I connected it directly to the battery (via cigarette socket). Well, guess what, it didn't fry. On the contrary. I can now survive cranks

I completely rewired everything, ditched the inverter and the backup battery since now I'm surviving crank anyway and car's battery is used to power the system while in standby. We'll see how it goes. I'll be ordering the new mobo tomorrow.

Since the mobo comes complete with the laptop (hehe), I will be able to have two identical systems running in my car, with two identical 12.2" LCDs. I was thinking about getting one of those OBDII readers that plug into your serial port and setting up my two screens so that one shows my GPS/music and another one will show OBD gauges. I thought that would be super-cool because then my car would look like a fighter jet's cockpit

But I guess I'll just end up spending that money on heated seats instead...

Okay, a small update. Just bought the mobo today, it comes with a screen. I have enough parts now to run two computers in my car on two 12.2" LCDs! Cool
One for GPS, one for music Oh, and OBDII too

    Damn it, I'm so ****ed!
Routis works like a charm on my system, but there is no driver for my GPS receiver (PCMCIA>CF) the damn thing says there is a resource conflict and it won't let me edit the resources manually. It won't even display what it is conflicting with! Damn.
Well, at least my PCMCIA slots are working, so I can use my crappy P133 as a remote control for my 2.4 GHz laptop via LAN

Started on a new LCD extension today. I will have two identical 12.2" LCDs in my car, one for GPS/OBDII another just for music. I will be running two systems too. Four actually since I will have two carputers, one laptop and one pocket pc all networked together.
Why? Hell, I don't know myself. I just want to see it it will look good.
