due to the bulge on the upper portion of my dash, ron from streeteffectz had to modify the molding to that there was somewhat of a design to the fit.

i must admit the bmw mold was exceptionally done

Only bad thing i can think of is that you dont have the pleasure of knowing you did all the hard work to get the thing working

    But still, good job.
streeteffectz gives a quote based on what you want done exactly...it would be different for each car, each install. because of the complexity of the molding of the dash and rewiring needed for the audi, it cost roughly $1000 for the install.

i thought about doing it myself and actually took the whole dash apart but didn't want to screw up my dash for something that could be done professionally.

    My thoughts exactly!

do you have details on how you switch the sound in the headunit from carputer to CD? I have the same headunit in my Audi TT and am thinking of doing the same thing. Dont know how to do it.

Looks very nice by the way!!

What are you trying to do just get sound into the head unit from the pc?

If so you can use an FM mod or you can buy an auxiliary input converter.
Here is a link that has one, many companies make them, and so you can choose your own manufacture.

i dont yet know what is the best solution. I read al kinds of stories that the FM transmittors dont give good quality sound. Ám I right? or are there any good experiences out there?

I think the best solution whould be to use the connector to the Cd changer. My computer will be in the back of the car (audi TT) anyhow. so if i can find the right connector that appears the best solution. Is it ossible to build a switch or a relais in the connectiopn so that I can switch between the CD changer and the carputer? Thanks for the liunks I will look at them in detail!
