I planned out the lay out and had to hire out the fiber work... I suck at that glass/bondo work. Rick my friend took the stock plate and gauged the monitor to fit in the middle. Blended in the switches up top where vents use to be. so.... this is what Stock layout once looked like... (not my car)

Awesome install... I've been looking at one of those Crossfires for a while now. Just haven't got the balls to make a move yet....

If your Xenarc is mounted over HVAC vents, watch out for condensation. I had a Matrix Orbital LCD mounted over my AC vents and always had water dripping from it! It never hurt anything, but I would imagine that LCD's would be more sensitive to moisture. Just check it from time to time and post your findings here. I'm sure everyone would be interested in your observations.

My vents have been completely blocked off by a plastic template siliconed in place, never had any problems yet with the panel insert wedged in place to block the ducting from venting.

monitor is not in the ducting area anyway. I think mounting a monitor near a vent could be asking for trouble. condensation, etc. i am with you. The switch plate is mounted over the blocked ducting. the switches were once in the DIN area below the OEM radio.... look ate the stock pic above for reference.

    Out ChrisG

Thanks for all the props guys! You all helped inspire me to have the balls to do the install.

    sweet!

I see that it appears that someone used the longer screw on the shorter part...heheh

that sucks...i did that too but it didn't matter since I was sanding and filling a bunch of stuff...

    this install looks damn good!

still would like to know if you have any pics of the entire process....hope so!

    Damn Screws!

I was hosting all my pics on supermagehost.com and they upgraded to a new browser upload partner and all my pics disappeared. Fuchers. They won't even return my emails. I will search one of my old boxes here in the house to see if they are still on that drive.

What an incredibly awesome install! Nicely done and I love your car.

What do you think of your Catalina SC? I'm contemplating one...

Works great form me. Using it for sound piped to an alpine vpower amp. Sounds great and not a hiss from it. Running my linein from xmpcr and have no noise from it. It has decent software and good drivers if you ask.
