Yeah the USB port is sweet.
How is that CL-10000 working out for ya ?
-
The CL-10000 is nice. A little more expensive than the M10000, but it is a nicer board for non-car uses in case I ever decide to swap it out... Dual ethernet, four serial, 6 USB 2.0.
As far as I can tell the only disadvange is that it doesn't have 6-channel audio. Since I'm running on the stock system, that is fine with me.
- Noam
BTW... OT, but I can't wait to try out iGuidance embedded in FrodoPlayer :)
-
How did you get that usb to turn out so clean? I want to do the same thing in my trucks' driver door for a keyboard or usb stick. Could you tell me what you did. Thanks
-
I drilled a couple of holes and then used a utility knife to shave it away. The USB port itself is one of the ones that would attach to the back of a PC. I cut away the plastic holders so that the USB port itself sticks out more. I had to make it wider than the USB plug itself so that I could actually get the USB plug through.
-
what did you use to attach it to the plastic?
-
Just friction. It is a really tight fit. I'll probably epoxy it in at some point.
-
Wow, you sure did a great job on that USB opening! Why haven't I even thought of drilling holes and than cutting the opening? Doh! Next time I will do exactly that :)
-
Yeah... The USB port itself was the easiest (mentally and in actually) piece to do. :)
Hacking apart the dash to add another DIN slot where the cigarette lighter used to be was much more "fun"... I also never thought I would become so comfortable with removing all of my seats and ripping up the carpet for all of the cable runs.
