I replaced the board. It turned out it wasn't necessery, but I already purchased a new one. It was a cable problem - one of the cables that is soldered to the ATX connector was not good. I am still wandering how come the board did not burn . Good hardware design, I guess. And I have to improve my soldering skills.
Now the stupid Lilliput touchscreen is not working. When I touch the screen the mouse goes crazy. I do not want to buy a new LCD only to discover pater that it was a cable problem . I hate hardware!

media4d, Is it possible you can share how you got your computer to fit into a 1 DIN space? What's the parts list?

    Well blackflux,
If you'd care to go to my project website I am pretty sure you will get the idea. Also parts list. And pictures. I try to post there as often as I can.
    Parts list :
    1. EPIA 5000.
    2. Laptop HDD - not sure which one I put inside the case but it is a Toshiba or an IBM. I think it is a Travelstar (IBM) - very noisy one, but OK in the car, because the engine is even noisier .
    3. Memory -PC150 256MB.
    4. DVD - my DELL laptop DVD drive.
    5. The case is from DigiKey.
    6. Special holder to mount the DVD and HDD together. Check out my web site for pictures.
    7. Lilliput with touchscreen (or without, I am not sure right now ).
    8. Wireless USB adapter by SMC.
    9. RS-232 GPS unit form http://www.laipac.com
    10. My own software - still in development.

I am working on the next version of the case and the holder. Much-much nicer and easyer for assembly. Also decided to put a small laptop fan, just in case.

    I guess this is it....

Thanks media4d! Now that I think about it I came across your website before.

On last thing, did you buy that DVD/HDD holder or did you make it yourself?

    media4d,

Just sent you an email to become one of your beta testers :-)

As a suggestion, you may want to start CVSing your code...it will save you a GREAT deal of fustration later. Also, maybe some forum or form submission on your website of documented bugs, and their status to be fixed or changed?

Love what you did! I would like to get to that point with hardware, but I figured i would follow KISS: Keep it simple, stupid! heh.
