And how are you going to use balanced signals in your car?
Are you going to send speaker-level signals through these cables or just line-signals?
I'm very curious, sorry 'bout that
Joa
Actually, nope. But a friend of mine has an electronic parts shop in Lokeren. He has a document (pdf) on his website with information regarding Cat5e UTP cable for audio use: Cat5e UTP for audio useOriginally Posted by JC-S60
So, I'm pretty confident it will work. (BTW, the Audio-UTP cable I'm running is only approx. 1.5 meters in length)
(For the English speaking, sorry, only have it in Dutch for now)

The balanced signals thing is only for digital audio, I believe... Anyway, I'll post the results later.Originally Posted by JC-S60

Why is it drug addicts and computer afficionados are both called users?

Pics are coming up. I had a very busy weekend so I couldn't post them. I wanted to do it from work today, but forgot my CF card with the pics on it. This evening I have some time to post pics. Hey, not everybody has all the time in the world just to keep posting here like a uh... frodo.Originally Posted by kalito

The door-handles are in same color as the body. And windows are tinted. Also that nice antenna isn't on the picture. My avatar shows a piece of the back of my car.

Oh, forgot... I can already tell that using Cat 5e UTP cable for sound is very good. My setup has a little bit of engine whine in very silent passages. (And very low-level volume encoded movies) but I remember using one of those normal audio cables in a test setup that sounded a lot worse. (much more engine whining)
Otherwise I do not encounter interfercence or annoying sounds or anything unnusual.
I'm gonna check out some posts on the ground loop thing. Because that will probably solve this issue.
