I didn't make that top part. The dog house I bought it from subaruparts.com for 60 bucks. It might be possible to find them on ebay.

Its where those expensive factory optional gauges go.

Let me rephrase what I said about cutting, I DID cut the lilliput casing up I DIDN't cut anything up in my car. If you look at post 18 I took pics of where I glued two strips of plexi glass on each side of the radio bezel so that I would have something to mount the little screen peice that I had cut off my lilliput casing. The radio will fit in the bezel fine so if I ever do have to resell it I'll just unscrew the plastic lilliput and pop in the radio. Also I was trying to find a non working (or cheap) double din radio that I could cut to place where the screen is when I leave the car to hide it.

How were you able to secure the housing on the top. That's the only problem I've run into

What do you mean? the dog house? You pop out the factory clock then you put the dog house in, it comes with these weird screws and screw sockets for mounting.

yes i have my deck mounted and everything it's just the plastic housing that goes over it. there doesn't seem to be anywhere it can clip into to keep it down

it should have come with 4 screws and a few clips that go into the dash so that you can screw into.

we are talking about the plastic piece that covers the deck not the actual deck itself right...

My deck is in and secured its just the plastic covering.

Oh, no we're not. There are clips for those too. They go on the left and right side of the opening. The design isn't very good, the casing is hard to put on and take off.
