Hi Guys,
Quick question, does the steering wheel buttons still work (i.e. send out ibus signals) after I removed the original HU ?
I was thinking of using that i-Bus interface and connecting it to the changer's ibus connector and using the steering wheel buttons to control my car PC.
Any one has tried this successfully before? Would appreciate anyone shedding some light on this.
Thanks!

Only problem I see is that your steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car.
Cdrskull, mad propz on the install! Seeing how clean that trunk install is is convincing me to go that way. I remember seeing a cd changer install and i'm gonna try and use that bracket and trunk trim to set my car pc up. I can see it in my mind's eye already...I plan to mod my pc box (that i will eventually build to those specs) to fit in the empty space beside the stock amp, and plan on installing a 3.5" hd in a seperate casing and cd drive in the 2 slots above it (instead of the cd changer) for easy access. should be simple enuff.
Here's the link to the cd changer install: http://www.bmw325i.net/inst_mp3cd.shtml

Did anyone ever figure out how to make the BMW skin change from day to night mode automatically?
You can do this with RoadRunner and set the times in the ini file. Not sure if you mean with the ibus though - I'm sure that's do-able
Ah its in this very same post somwhere I read it. Question. WHere can I get that BMW skin? or one like it?Originally Posted by Spaghetti
