sorry I have only got 800x600.. it would be a complete rewrite of the .skin files if you were to resize the images as well.

Thanks.. yep post no 38, I've uploaded them to a server, so you shouldnt have any probs getting them. Remember I only did these for myself, not a release thing :-)

    cheers

The surround was started from cutting and glueing a standard din facia. One thats used when installing a normal stereo.

I cut this up, and made it even both sides with the xenarc lcd screen housing with the button bit hacked off stuck in the middle. Tested it to checked it fit.. then I stuck some plastic L shaped bits lower down to give me a place to start sticking the filler. After a couple of hours of sanding and filling I got the basic shape. Then it was just a case of more sanding and filling.. etc..etc until I was happy with it. Then I just primed it with grey spray, then used a matt black plasticote type spray paint on it. The screen is attached using the normal xenarc screws, but the pcb board is mounted horizontal behind the screen with the leads attached, it wouldnt mount flat (not enough room).
I have lost the ability to alter the brightness etc.. but I never used them anyway. As the zenacr auto turns on anyway theres no need for them. Its been in two weeks now with no problems although I may remove it just to secure the pcb better.

    cheers

    Talking Nice.

    Excellent work.

I have a 330ci convertible in the uk (it's actually a 325 but i got a 330 badge... so as far as anyone else is concerned... it's a 330 hehe) and was thinking of having a similar setup to yours.

Couple of questions though... I was wondering how the quality of sound compares to having a normal head unit. You see, i recently spent 480 on changing my stock head unit to a sony one which looks kinda good (i think so anyway) and i would hate to spend another thousand odd pounds plus, (at the same time wasting the 480 i already spent on the headunit) and end up with a poorer sound quality.

The other thing is how long does it take, and how easy is it to make the custom dash trim for the screen?

How long is your system taking to boot up?

without wanting to be too nosey, how much am I looking to pay for a set up like that?
