Which software did you use to integrate your ibus with mediacar?
Hi CDR, I must say you have a great install!! I am trying to do the same thing to my 2003 Z4 also and I have a question for you.
Right now I am using a Bitzsafe converter to connect my mp3 player to the stereo. Bascially, the Bitzsafe is a box that emulate the CD changer in the trunk (boot) with one end connecting to the CD changer cables and the other end with a stereo plug that goes to my mp3 player.
Now my question is: Can I use the serial IBus interface while I am using the Bitzsafe? I want to use the Bitzsafe to connect to the line out of the pc, and have the IBus interface to control it. Can I simply use a Y-cable to split the CD-changer cable into two: one going to the IBus interface, and the other to the Bitzsafe? Can things be this simple or am I missing something?
I understand you may not have any experiences with the Bitzsafe at all, but I hope you can shine some light on me. Thanks in advance.
Really nice config. Just for those interrested by the piece of software doing IBUS integration, have a look to http://sourceforge.net/projects/beboxmp3/ and download the last version of IBUSCOMM.
CDRsKULL : You can activate automatically the day/night skin by mapping the IBUS event trigged when you turn lights on. You can trap it with IBusAnalyser.
thanks I will look into this, could be quite handy for changing gamma :-) I'm also thinking about writing my own software for the ibus.. I've made a start on it, but thats about as far as I've got. I want to map the volume buttons to main volume, so the app doesnt need focus for these to work.
CdRsKuLL, is there some IBUS controller or do all the components have their own processors?
IE if you just had the steering wheel, hooked it up to the COM port via the circuit board
should the buttons work, or does it need the IBUS cable in the car which is attached to some controller?
I see where your going with this.. I have no idea, and I aint going to rip my steering wheel off in the interests of the mp3car forums either.. :-( sorry .. lol Saying this.. I do have a copy of 'BMW.ETK.v09.2004.MULTiLANGUAGE.ISO' so will load em up and have a look.. there ment to be the workshop cd's or something, not had chance to look at em yet. err Yep I've had em since 09.04

Well I have a MF steering wheel and the board. Connected it to a PC and a Power source, but apart from the lights coming on, I didn't get any responses from key presses using the IBUS Analyser program. Which leads me to believe there is some other form of control (or the MF side of the Steering wheel is shot )
