I'm a member of some online VW forums (vwvortex.com). Many of the members on there have taken apart their cars for other reasons (stereo install, alliminum dash, etc). They were cool enough to post some "how-to's". This was extremely helpful because otherwise it's easy to miss a hidden screw or clip and end up breaking/cracking the plastic interior pieces.
Do you happen to still have the link for this? I searched and cannot find any info.

    TY!

Damn nice install m8... Im bout to start modding my Jetta IV... i just have one question, do you know if there is any place that sells the dash bessel for a Xenarc monitor for the car??

I was thinking in having the miniATX pc under the copilot seat, but guess It would be better to have it on the back of the car.

I just hope I can get my car to look at least half as good as yours

wow.... way to quote a page and a half of pictures only to give a meaningless 2 line response.... much like im doing now, minus the pictures

and i can only assume there is no radio, because his head unit is gone.

Well, but you can gain the functionallity again with a FM/TV tunner card, maybe a USB one... Like this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815116624

Im gonna start installing the carpc to my jetta somewhere this month, im still getting all the stuff needed... What im still trying to figure out is how to connect the audio channels to the speakers of the cars. Im gonna be using the audio card of a a M12000. Im a completly newbiew on car audio setups, im not even sure if my car has just 2 channel, or 4. I know I do need an amplifier to get the carpc audio to the speakers, but not quite sure which one I need. Any suggestions ??

You need a 4channel amp to power all the speakers in your car and sstill have the correct functionality of all the speakers ie fade front to back and balance left to right. I was going to do the amp idea but I just made longer wires and extended an after marke headunit into my glove box. The headunit has aux input so I just set the volume with it and then I can go up and down on the volume with the touch screen. So much easier than buying an amp and then wiring it.

PS: I saw a picture last week of someone with a lilliput 8" in their vw can anyone find that pic for me I looked everywhere My lilliput died, well at least white screen of death, so I ordered an 8" lilli then I found out about the replacement ribbon cables so if that works now Ill have 2 screens hehe.

The 4 channels amp will just have a 2 channel input out of the jack of the PC? (Using of course the 3.5mm to RCA jack) I will completly remove the head unit in order to use all the space for the screen (I had a Sony CDX MP3 Player). I got like 70% of the equipment now.. i will start doing the bezzel mod sometime this week, I already got a replacement bessel for my jetta and a replacement case for a Xenarc 7"

Any recommendation for which amp to use for this??? Plus I have another 2 channel amp right now for bass, not sure how would I hook this up
