Not to blow anyones head up...This is the car that got me even thinking into doing an incar PC setup. Love it man, nice work. My 00 Jetta, mostly stock setup, I will post as soon as I get over a week of exams.
Hi,
I like your work you did on your Jetta. I like the touch screen logo and the way you ran your cables. I own a Jetta VW V2.0 too and I'm thinking of doing the same installation. I'm newbie on this but I have experience on Computer Installation. Probably I will be looking for that Magazine " Build Your Own Car PC ". Thank for the tips you have placed in this thread.

How is did you make the Road Runner Vw screen. what kind of program do you have to run to make that.
road runner is a software front end. you can find it and other software front ends here:

Please post on the forums! Chances are, someone else has or will have the same questions as you!
i dont know if someone already asked, but do you know of a way to still use the stock monsoon stereo w a carputer?
Carlos, how do you mean? You mean leave the VW HU in place and have an LCD monitor mounted elsewhere?
I'm not sure exactly what post you're replying to? If your question is if you can leave the standard DIN sized stock (or after-market) while still having a in-dash display, then yes. There are a few ways. Probably the most popular and cleanest way to do this is use a sliding in-dash LCD. Something similar to theXenarc 700IDT. Is this what you were asking about?
Just wondering. I have a '00 Jetta 1.8T, and my stereo seems to be bare bones (no CD) but I have a component system (independent tweeters/woofers.) Do you know if these are internally crossed over? did you just buy a wiring harness for an aftermarket HU and wire it that way, or did you rip apart VW's wiring and start fresh?
I'm planning on building my setup in stages, so I want to keep teh stock speakers for now.
Great looking Jetta! Looks like it came stock with the car, very impressive!
