That's cool, my friend has a 93 Celica we are going to drop a comp into. Where did you actually mount the computer at, I was having trouble telling from the pics? We were thinking of using a laptop and havin a docking station under the front seat. How's that CD-Rom work being there?

Nice job on the install. The 5th gen is probably my favorite Celica.

The computer is in the back of the trunk, I'm just using a bungy cord to keep it vertical. The CD ROM is under the passenger seat, this works very well it's heavy enough that it doesn't slide around and it doesn't skip very often. I like the 6th gen celica's but am perfectly happy with a 5th gen

    Question Very Nice.

How do you power in the reverse camera. Did you plug it in to rca input and stitch with remote to bring up the camera to the screen or you found how to do it automatically?

I power the camera from the regulated 12V supply. The screen has two RCA inputs and I just select the RCA input when I want to select the camera. It would be slick to have it select the camera automaticlly when the car goes in reverse. Hmmm...how could I do that???

    re: auto reverse/

Someone here on forum posted on how to do it automatically using cheesebox
(Displaying reverse camera on a carputer?). But the box price is $70 plus more work to get it automatically. I was hoping someone with electronic background would figure the way on how to tap in to liliput's switch button, and use the relay to change it. For now, it looks like cheesebox or manually changing it.

I like that celica install. I'm planning on doing a 1990 GT4 myself.

I can't decide whether to ditch the headunit, and go for a screen and amp with the screen moulded in, or go for a popout screen and use the CD Headunit I have in my old Saab with AUX in. I already have the Toyota HU adaptor harness and single din converter, so either would work eventually. guess it just depends on how fast Digitalww/CarTFT/anyone else can get the motorised VGA screens out and how much they will cost finally.

I recommend going headunitless. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a motorized VGA screen. It'll happen eventually but who knows when. I almost got an all-trak but was scared off by the amount of maintenance required.

Mine does need the diff bush doing on the rear diff, it has just started to clonk a little. But it is a dealer only part, and for a dealer to supply and fit it is looking at the best part of £330 GBP. I don't do drag launches, and mad full power race shifts, I prefer in gear acceleration, and 3rd gear turbo assisted overtakes myself, so I can finesse shifts so that it doesn't clonk. Could do with getting the dealer to check and maybe change the trans and diffs fluids too.

I'm going to do the intermediate services (change oil and filter, check plugs and fluids etc) myself, and get an annual service stamp from the dealer for biggy each year. Mines pretty mechanically solid, and not too many whines, clicks or crunches, so when something does go wrong, I guess I will bite the bullet and pay out.

It's used as a backup in case my main 120GB drive goes out. The solid state drive has win98 and most critical applications....XM, Mediaengine etc.
