    S8-X (box)

Well I've been threatening to do this, and as I've had the car a week now, it's about time I got it working. So here's my installation of a 400GB chipped xbox into the boot of my S8, it is connected to the rear entertainment system and the main nav screen. Control is either by the xbox controllers or the xbox DVD remote controller and I'm running XB media center. It auto boots in to this in about 15 seconds.

The dash display showing a film playing....

    Front and rear screen together....

The xbox installation, dont look at the wires...

There's a shutdown controller which will shutdown the xbox 10 mins after the ignition is turned off. So you can get petrol etc without having to reboot.

Nice install. Doesn't even look like an XBox any more!

    Hi Steve

yeah powering on still to do, manual at the moment, but I have a spare ITPS, the shutdown controller will feed the aux input of the ITPS, after 5 secs the ITPS will raise it's 12V output and I will use this to fire a relay trigger (pulse) across the power switch, simple really.

Controllers are wireless, The S8 already has an IR link from the passenger compartment to the boot for the DVD changer, so I'm using that for the DVD remote.

Nice install of your M3 matey.

Craig.. I have looked around somewhere a normal ATX connector to Xbox ATX connector, this would enable you to use your pa70 on it :-) save you hassle then, You could use the power on switch from that to turn your box on and off then. Have a look at http://www.tribemods.com/cgi-bin/sto...=8697461_37637 this might just do what your looking for :-)
