Hey Leemik, thanks for the skin send earlier btw. i wonder if there's a dark brushed aluminum skin with orange font to match our dash? ^_^ that would rock

I got license plate cam but its ugly and screams 'steal me' so i returned it and i wanted to try mounting it in the recess where u put yours.

Did your rear view cam hold up or did u have to redo it?

sry, but unrelated to car comps:

you've had your procharger for awhile now... How's it faring maintenance/reliability wise? Would you recommend it on a daily driver?

I actually had a dark aluminum one.. I thought it was harder to see in general so i stuck with modding the light one.. but thanks for the tip about the orange font.. never thought of that..

My backup camera failed about a year ago.. I haven't installed a new one yet.. The truly waterproof ones are just huge and as you know there are very few places to put this on the back of the Z33.. not willing to drill a 1" diameter hole in my plate..

i would not recommend the procharger for a daily driver.. mostly because you have to change the oil on the blower every 3Kmiles too and it's kind of a pain (seperate from the regular engine oil).. and over time belts do get loose squeel... and besides that the kit has bad fuel management out of the box.. you have to spend a lot more money to get it safer like I did..

The Vortech might be a better choice if you are looking at SC's and of course you dont have to deal with loose belts at all if you get a turbo system..

but any FI on a non FI car is bad for a daily driver because you'll have lots of little things go wrong.. and lots of annoying downtime... the car will loose a bit of it's reliability..

Thanks for the info man; good to know.

I use two skins, dark aluminum at night and the light aluminum during the day.

I thought about trying some of the other flash based skins (freedom, etc.) since my system is kind of beefy (2ghz barton haha), but it's hard to change once you've run a particular skin for a long time.

I still haven't really checked the speed (because it hasn't bugged me) but I recently bought a Slingbox AV and started streaming my home Comcast cable TV to the car..

I expected choppiness and low resolution but none to be seen!!! It was like I was at home watching TV lol.. smooth crisp and clear.. no interruptions.. i'm lovin' it! Amazing technology!!

    Wireless broadband - $60/mo.
    EVDO Router - $180

    Got a quick question...

Were you able to integrate their software cleanly with the RR front-end? And which version did you use (Regular/Mobile PC Version/etc.)?

Wow this setup is better than I thought...

    Cable TV -> HTPC -> Slingbox->Internet

Internet-> CarPC / Any mobile PC = Access to my HTPC and movie collection remotely...

Mike, great job on the upgrade. Be looking for my computer thread here and on my350z soon. I will be doing dual core etc. You're car is a big inspiration on the placement and component decisions for mine.

First off, I'd just like to say wow. This is the most amazing Z I have ever seen in my entire life. It is hard to express how much I truly do love this car. I am hoping to get a Z soon and I would be amazed if I could get this even close to what your car is like. It is just beautiful. Out of curiosity, how much would you estimate your car is worth. I am just blown away by everything you did. Also, quick thing, why does the switch need the board and everything? Couldn't you just cut the red power and connect up the spst switch? Thanks and congrats on the friggen sweetest car I've ever seen.
