95 Saturn SL2 Install

Well after months of planning I finally got around to getting my carputer installed.

The Components used are:

Starvision 7" Touchscreen (the one car player sells)
VIA EPIA M10000
1GB Kingston PC2100
HGST 40GB 5400RPM Notebook HDD
Samsung 120GB 5400RPM HDD for Storage
Generic USB 2.0 PCI Card for extra USB ports
Opus mITX Vehicle Case
Philips PSC805 Aurillium
Windows XP Pro SP1 custom configured using nLite
Media Engine + Destinator 2

Audio Components are:

Eclipse CD8454 HU
Soundstream Rubicon 600-4 4 Chan Amp
Infinity Reference 6002i up front
Cheap Kenwood 10" for now.

Audio is ran via SPDIF Output to the headunit.

Looks good, but I would worry about the system under the floor mat - aren't you worried about wet/dirty feet? Otherwise...it's a nice install - Congratulations!

Nope, from what I've observed, people get in, they step on the middle of the carputer and then rest their feet where the carputer doesn't reside so the floormat soaks it in

.

Hopefully when I get more audio equipment I might move it to the trunk.

Good job. Are you sure there is absolutely no way to move the carputer to a different location?

Eh I can move it to the trunk, just a little too many wires to extend for my tastes.

Well, that is true

My system fits right under the driver's seat, so I never have to worry about wires being too short - most of the time they are too long and are sometimes in my way.
