    Pics are back up...

Sorry guys... I've been away from here for a while (moved across the country). I didn't even know that there was a demand for the pics of my install until now.
My server has been down and disconnected because of the move but it's back up now, so all of the pictures are showing up.
By the way, I moved from Green Bay, WI to Orlando, FL and had the carputer on for the entire drive (straight through - 25 hours) without any heat problems or lock-ups! Awesome!

No, I used the factory system... I just extended each wire running to the head unit and relocated the factory radio under the driver's seat. This allowed me to use the factory amp and bose system setup without having to add an additional amp and head unit. To get sound into the bose system, I had to buy an auxiliary input converter that installs in-line with the cd changer cable. I'm not 100% sure what model input converter worked for my vehicle but I'm pretty sure it was this one: http://www.logjamelectronics.com/pacaaigm9.html
Then, all of the volume is controlled 'through Windows' by using the volume control in MediaCar.
    Works like a champ!!

ohhhh good idea..i didnt think there was enough room under there...i like how u installed it all in the cd changer..but i didnt want to ruin mine..i took my cd changer out and mounted a pioneer cd player facing up instead of the cd changer..this was when i want to access the volume i pop open the armrest slide my hand in and turn the volume up and than close it. it was really clean install..and im installing the pc under the rear seat with a custom rack around it..its gonna look nice. project is on hold now cuz the engine is kapoot..lol

Sounds like it's going to be very nice! I starting doing the 'under the rear seat' route but I frequently fold down my rear seats to haul things and I found that no matter where you mount it under there, the seat backs (when folded down) hit it and don't allow for much air circulation at all. If you don't fold down your rear seats much, then it's a perfect place for it with lots of room... or (as you said) build a rack around it. Good luck with the engine!
