microsoft owns your foolish carcass.
I have lots of information about the project here on my CarBlog.
The pictures of the install (and more pictures of the components) are in this post.
I worked a while on an bezel that would replace the power adapter bezel and coin tray bezel and thus have a screen angled up at me from the bottom, but I found quickly how bad I am at working with foam/resin/fiberglass, so I decided that I could live with a screen on the top of the console. Plus it makes a nice radar detector mount.![]()
Other than some cable management in the back, this should be the complete hardware install (for now). Next I have to keep working on the software (since I am writing it myself).

P.S. See this post for more background.

So to pull this back from the thread jacker.
Most of us saw the video Channel 9 (I think) did on your ride. Nice to see our little fetish getting some more press.
I like what you were going for with the box. It's nice to keep as much of the system removable as you can for when you decide to move on to another vehicle. You eventually find your ultimate car and fit things in more permanently, but looks good. The removable USB drive is a nice touch and has given me an idea for my storage (I live in missouri, -20 in the winter, 110 in the summer).
Have you given any thought to interfacing with your cars ignition system? Since you have the windows stuff up and running already, seems like it would be the next logical jump.

It gimme the jibblies
yeah, thanks, this thread went a month and a half without being answered, and then i come on, and jumpstart it, and its considered thread jacking.... great job pointing out that his system is removable. is anyones setup on mp3car permanent? brilliant post, thanks for taking the thread back and contributing your brilliant observationsOriginally Posted by fearthepenguin
