NO need to design the software. Unless thats what you like to do. I mean you that free software thats oput there plus you can buy the software for around $60.
Pete Janak. Seems like though that the placement of the screeen and where you sit would cause that atypical funky LCD screen glow. So perhaps it should be able to swivel? Or is it just fine?

A little search work will answer your questions. It is quite simple.

Nice install. Fill in the gaps and it will look great.
Is this where the witty comment goes?

Nice install. Don't forget to post updated pictures when you finish it. You could always underclock it a bit if it's running a bit hot. A slot-load drive would have been more practical for in car use but I've one like yours too and it's still working fine.
Current Cfg: AMD 2200+, Epox Mobo, 7" Lilliput TS, 320MB RAM, 40GB 2.5" HD, 200GB SATA, Slim Combo, ATI Radeon, SMC B/G Wireless w/ 5dB antenna, Bluetooth.
S/W: RoadRunner/MapMonkey/NetStumbler. Still working on a box and PSU!

Sorry to bump this old thread, but I as well own a 97 camaro (V6 RS 5spd auto tranny, not as awesome as yours) and plan to do a carputer install. I'd like to still find a place for an aftermarket headunit, but I don't think there's a place for one. I won't be shoving all my stuff in the dash, atleast not at first, it will probably go in the back with my ttop storage. You've inspired me ;p

I too have a 97 z28 and was thinking of making a new dash area with the existing dash and centerconsole area and convert it into one whole unit

I like it a lot. Did you mention what screen you are running?
I have a TA and plan a similar screen setup. Did you have any problems with the angle as far as the colors or glare?

I believe both the camaro and TA have the radio area angled slightly towards the drivers side, does the screen still look good from the passengers seat?
