yep it's the Panasonic. I haven't had any trouble with it in the verticle position though i don't use it that much. It is a bit louder than i'd expect.

Can you show some pix of your sub installation? I have a wagon as well.

Where did you mount the PC and amps?

    C!
i took the Xenarc out of it's housing and made some spacers to tilt one of the boards out of the way so it would fit in the WRX dash hole. I then made a bracket that held the LCD and boards and bolted onto the mounts for the OEM radio

sweet arse ride man! Well equiped, and Very clean install. Only thing I would do is tuck the wires coming from under the seat, under the carpet. Love the sub enclosure design! I love the WRX. Nice car!

    Great install StationRocket!

Does the Xenarc fit the standard subaru bezel? Did you glue anything to the bezel or is the whole Xenarc held by the stock double din bracket?

thought about going under the carpet there but it would have been a lot of work and would make it more of a pain to take it out if i wanted to do some work on the bench. when the seat is in it's normal position it's all out of site anyway.

unfortunatly not only does a xenarc not fit in the standard bezel it woun't fit in the hole behind the bezel in the dash.

To solve this i had to open up the xenarc and ditch it's factory housing. Inside the factory housing there is a touchpanel, the lcd panel, and two circuit boards. you can find pictures of one disassembled here http://www.talix.com In order to make the whole assmebly shorter (so it will fit in the dash) I tilted the circuit board that has the control buttons back. To hold the board in it's new tilted position and to hold the whole assemble together now that the origional housing is gone I made some parts out of plastic on a milling machine. I'm sorry i failed to take picutres when it was all apart. The part is a rectangle with little wings on the outside to hit the stock radio mounting points. There is a rectangular hole cut in the part so you can see the lcd. There is a recess cut around the hole so the touchpanel and lcd will sit in the recess on a ledge and then be held in by a couple of tabs screwed on in the back. By making those tabs much bigger than they needed to be and sloping thier back side i made a place to mount teh circuit board that needed to be tilted.

Also i trimmed a little plastic out of the hole in the dash behind the bezel above where the radio origionally sat.

Sorry for the lack of pics and the clear as mud explination.

Thanks anyway, your explanation is quiet clear.
Just another Q: with 'stock radio mounting points' You mean those ON the double din radio bracket or the mounting points who HOLD the double din radio bracket. In other words, did you ditch the bracket?

Now you can't reach the buttons anymore?

    Thanks, Michael
