    USB extention cable

Its the one that comes with the motherboard, modified a bit. I attached it to the plastic box/unit i made for it and then ran cables to the front plate I made for the dashboard, and used another one (from another computer) there.

well this thread has almost died, but I might add something. Ive had to totally take out the car pc and stereo, to get Ford to repair the shocky in the boot under warranty, and while it was all out, I made up new neater cables, replaced all the caps on the MB and freshen up some settings on XP. I also changed and simplified the power wiring, now I can use Hybernate, and it works flawlessly

hey I love your install!!! I am about to attempt to install a carpc into my BA falcon next week...!! You have given me some great ideas as where to mount the LCD!

How did you mount the LCD there? Did you remove the ICC and screw a bracket to the side of it ?

    Thanks

I made my own aluminium bracket (turned up a sorta knob thing, tig welded a 8mm bolt and washer to get the mount angle just right, non adjustable) bolt screwed into the turned up knob, which is screwed to the 3 x 3 inch aluminium plate, double sided taped to the dash. Surprising how well its stayed there! run the wires down beside the steering column to the pc mounted under the dash, on the drivers side. Its done in a way that will leave no visible signs on the dash if its removed.
