Could not believe my eyes, 100% factory look! cant tell it's been mod'ed dash at all! Well done!
Your TL is nice too, but I have to say it could have been a much better looking car if Honda didnt add the deep waist lines (along the door handles) on the drawing board ....

Can you give a bit more info on the switchbox you built in front of the Powermate. I'm thinking about doing something similar, and I was curious as to which components you used.

Just a bunch of pushbutton and toggle switches from radioshack. Nothing fancy.
Cut up some acrylic to make the case for it.

I got most of my parts in and ready about to do the project. One huge big question, how do you get laptop audio into TL sound system? TL amp is very different because of the voice recongition.

    check http://tl.acurazine.com/forums/showp...1&postcount=26

I really want to get 5.1 audio DVD playback, how is it possible to connect to the stock amp?

I basically moved the stock LCD to the bottom compartment by extending a bunch of wires (40 or so), and put the xenarc there instead. Almost a perfect fit. =) didn't even have to gut the case etc...
How do you exactly extent those wire? cut them and then solder another wire to extent them?

Elusion> just cut them and use connectors. Of course you would want to disconnect the battery BEFORE cutting wires, etc...
5.1 playback would require you to have a soundcard that outputs 5.1 channels then you have to tap straight into the amp wiring harness.
i just use stereo output switched with the XM sound coming out of the trunk to the radio. a single 4PDT relay will do that so you can switch the sound from PC to XM by means of a toggle switch.

    Moahhdib,

    Thanks for answering

Instead of disconnect the battery, can I just disconnect the fuse? also you said use connectors, what are they look like? am I able to buy them from Radio Shak? So it does not need soldering right? (sorry i am an idiot in electronics and also circuitry)

My conclusion after studying the stock amp, I found it is very difficult to tap in, it does not use RCA connection for sound in, it uses wire that has + and -. I might have to go to a perfectional car audio store for help (i guess I need to pay the labor fee). I am still deciding to get SoundBlaster Live 5.1 USB or the Audigy2 NX USB. I really don't like Creative Product because their drivers are very cpu resource intensive but there are only 3 vendor ever produce usb sound card. Too few to choose from.

I wouldn't attempt to cut wires if you dont know much about electronics. -_-
