    Thanks,
well the thing is. Is that the rubber piece is not really that hard of rubber, but formed so that it can not be pulled to far in any direction. Know what i mean(hard to explain)...
I went to Homedepot today and looked up and down every isle. I couldnt find anything that would work. Even looken for some rubber grommets and anything else made out of rubber.

What about the material they use on shifter boots? You could buy one of those cut it down to size and use that.

Wow another great idea. Let me go measure the hole on the body of my truck. Im wondering if it would be able to be cut down so small and fit.

That's about the size of the opening on a shifter boot isn't it? I would assume you could go to a place like PepBoys or AutoZone or something and pick up one for cheap (measure the hole first) and it should be able to wide enough to cover the larger hole. I don't have a manual so I can't check my friends at home do though. I can't imagine the rod for the shifter is much larger then an inch, it's probably smaller then you can just cut it open a little more to fit it better.

I think you mean smaller. You'd rather have it start at the 1" opening, go down and get larger then the 1 5/8" hole so you can cut it. Keep in mind you are going to want some slack in the boot, you don't want it to go straight down and attach otherwise it won't rotate. Some slack will let it give to all the sides. Good luck with that, post with how it works.

Ok i got this from the junk yard . Took me forever to find it and froze by butt off. Ya would think a junk yard would have more standard cars. There were like 1 for every 10 automatics. Geesh!

Now i just have to figure out, what I can use to glue/stick this piece of rubber to my body. Hot glue didnt work but worked well for mock-up. Any suggestions...
    Super glue?
    Thanks Grimey

Edit: ima stick the part, from my thumb back, on the inside of the truck. So where my thumb is, is where ima glue it.
