What spare tire? That weighs like 70lb! Us Lexus folk will rather call the towtruck than carry that extra weightOriginally Posted by Cris

,,to make up for the weight of my spare, which incidently sits underneath the tool tray pictured.. effectively the mobo sits inside the alloy (wheel is upsidedown dont forget)
@ hd54321 - have a look at my webpage link, that will show you how i got the shape, basically after i glued the front of the screen in place and filled it with liquid plastic i tried to follw the angle of the screen bezel, which really just means sanding at say a <45deg angle from the front flat surface.
As for 3 DIN slotsyup there was that much room, dont forget that when the stock double din headunit is in place there is also a panel that has the heated seat and TRC buttons mounted.
The boot install at the mo is not much to look at,, currently the HD Rack is sticking out of a hole of a solid lid.. ive yet to fabricate something nice for it.
incidently @ 0l33l & hd54321.. what 'media' front end do you guys run.. do you have a lexus 'theme' ive been trying to find some stuff here, but links ae dead..

I use Frodoplayer. Search the forum for Lexus, they have a Lexus theme for it 100%.Originally Posted by Fargo
I have one because my tires are worn out in the back and I keep on driving over nails in the front. When I get my either 17 or 18" wheels, then I won't have a use for the 16" stocker.Originally Posted by Cris
I use Feb's skin on Frodoplayer and Mediacar - he has a nice Lexus logo. Also, I edited my ATX mobo's BIOS to display the lexus logo on boot. I posted the filed here - do a search for posts with my name and you will find it.Originally Posted by Fargo
Very nice install. I myself is considering putting a carputer on a IS200. However I am planning to move air conditioning control panel down to where your have placed your screen, and placing a 7" screen on its place. Did you consider this at any stage? I think placing touch screen higher up means it’s easier to access and read it. What do you think?
Please do! most of the IS300 installs i've seen place the screen where the stock headunit is. IMO, the best place is where the nav screen goes! why? i want to at least be looking towards the road when using my car pc! i DON't wanna be looking down while driving. fiddling with my stock radio is worrisome enough.
i'll be doing the oem screen install for my monitor even though it's more expensive and a bit awkward to reach out to use the touchscreen.
don't let my reg. date fool you; 'lurker since '03.
