you're asking whether it would be easier to lift open his airbag compartment, as it looks like you can just lift it open now, or pull out a locked suitcase from under the seat, put the key in and unlock it, and take the gun out?

Hi. Although today is July 15, 2009, I just read your Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas AKA Shaguar JagPC thread. I was hoping that you might be able to help me with a problem. My friend has the same vehicle, and the climate control rolling knob got pushed into the dash. I have removed the center wood-grain panel, but must remove the passenger airbag panel in order to remove the center vent console. If possible, could you please explain to me how to remove this panel? I am afraid of setting off the airbag! Thanks, in advance.

You should always disconnect your battery before working on electronics, wiring, especially airbags!!! or ask a mechanic!!!

Just swapped my steering wheel over and made damn sure I disconnected the battery, left it for well over (the recommended) 30 mins, before working on removing the steering wheel.
