I think for anyone to make a gauge face, they would have to have the actual gauges to make a template from. I know some custom places that make all kinds of vinyl graphics including gauge overlays for F-bodies, but I assume you have a different car. Your best bet may be to find a shop online that already makes aftermarket overlays for your car and see if they can use their template and make one custom for you.

He'd probably be able and happy to do it... but it might cost you... and you may not see it for a few years or so....

let me start playing with the gauge face a bit & do a few prints & test the results before I talk about doing another one just yet, then we'll see... I have considered el & found a few retailers, but I'll check that link too....

been a bit sidetracked this week hunting down a replacement for the honda... I just picked up a caddy to replace it, so the honda's out & the dts is the new project

it's a bose setup.... that'll be one of the first things to go in the garbage.... gotta see how big of a screen I can get in this, either a 10.4 or maybe even a 12.1.... gotta pick the car up right after christmas... the dealer I bought it from is closed saturday... no time to pick it up tommorow, the dealers a few hours from me... it was a freashly traded car towards a new hemi car.... it's really nice, I'm pretty sure it'll swallow a pair of 8's in these doors & it should be able to take a pair of my horns too.... I measured the deck & it should also take my 1 15" sub in the deck same way I planned on the honda, the salesman was like"...you're measuring for what?"... let's see the wife complain this ain't comfortable enough

it's actually pretty similar to the minivan.... color is close, both on factory chromes.... I like it

it's got all the toys too, & no sunroof either so I could eventually do a rear pc in this, I can have the option of doing a overhead dropdown.... I hate sunroofs anyway, they ALL make at least a little wind noise...

I really was trying to avoid getting a car that I would want to drive more than my minivan, but it didn't work out that way I guess.... this won't kill my montana plans really, but may have an effect on it to some extent... hmmm, maybe do the cluster in that caddy instead.... too soon to say.... once I pick it up I guess the wheels'll start turning, & the smoke will start coming out of my ears again, & plans will be made from there.... I did like the honda, but I think I'll like this car just a little more

The top end Caddys and Town Cars have always been favorites of mine for sound systems. I'm a bit into the performance side of things right now with the Trans Am, but if I got a second vehicle, it would be one of those. They are super comfortable and quiet and make long trips a pleasure.

Looking at some Googled pics of the 2006 (what year is yours?), it looks like they offer a LCD screen in them stock. Probably a 6.5 or 7" widescreen. Is that too small? Just buying the right dash trim and installing your own 7" would really look factory. Or does your car already have that? You could just hook that up to a PC as I'm sure it's probably a high quality LCD screen.

Does yours have the steering wheel buttons too? That's nice to have.

Do you think the factory computers are going to get in the way?

yeah, I wish.... that's an 06 your showing, mine is an 01 like this

it does have the steering wheel controls.. it has the wood package which I really like... no bs plastiwood, this is real wood all around, & the wood wheel is really nice.. & who said the caddy wasn't comfortable enough.. not I

it has the adaptive seating, & quite a few toys that make it extra comfortable... the car is around 4,000 pounds & it rides real nice...

I've always been a caddy freek since a kid, I won't even mention here how many caddies I've owned cause no one will belive me anyway, but let's just say I've had most of the styles through the years, from coupes to sedans, from sevilles to eldo's.... I'm a caddy man at heart.... this ones not turbo, but it'll still suit me just fine

... it's only the past few years that I've been driving a few minivans & I miss having a caddy, so this car is long overdue for me really... I've always got a caddy or 2 laying around, but nothing to drive for the past few years...

as far as performance... this car is pretty up there, with 300hp bone stock, & the adaptive suspension & the 17" wide tires makes it a little sporty too, the dts has a touring suspension & handles pretty good... not a vette by any means, but not quite the boat that were caddies prior either...

no navigation, the early nav's sucked anyway,, the new new ones are nice, but the 01 was a crap system anyway... I'm not sure what screen I can fit here yet... didn't want to start dissasembling the dash in the dealers lot, gotta wait till I get it home for that at least.... I really want bigger than a 7", but I want it to look classy too, so I guess I'll see where that goes... I don't mind doing heavy dash mods to acomidate a larger screen, but I already measured the climate control head & it's too wide to be moved all the way down in the console..... I gotta rip it apart & see what the possibilities are...

here's the dash.... I don't want to litter up this thread with these other cars, so I will start a thread for this caddy to kick the ideas around...

Hey, I'm putting all real wood in my car as well! Even a wood grain steering wheel.

It looks like the A/C controls can fit where the radio is at and give you a lot of room from it to the vents. Maybe a 12.1 in widescreen mode or at least a 10.2".
