I'm anxious to just order bulbs & inverters....I think I'm just going to order 10 bulbs & 5 dual inverters from mouser....the stock them & ship quick according to there site......I can have them next week I think....the real question is will they all be able to dim from one source? I may just order them & find out....

jcdillin, have you ever ordered from them? any better last min. suggestions?

been playing with this setup for a few days now & it works flawlessly...it basically is exactly like two 8" screens one over the other without the seam....

web pages & song lists are displayed much better with a long screen actually, but it is a little weird with say dvd's because I can't use the whole screen to display it...but the area that displays video is the same actual size of the 8" that was removed....I just have extra space to display something else....this is a shot of watching a dvd while navigating.......many can do this, but how many can display both simultaniously

I finally connected my zippy light up keyboard that is in the visor...it lit up, but doesn't work with the keys....I had a few wiring issues with it & it crapped out, so I ordered two more of them from newegg..... one for driver & one for passenger..............

overall this new pc setup worked out great......I don't think I will ever do another desk top pc install in a car, done both several times.... from now on it's laptops for me......I want to buy a sony picturebook & see what it would take to mod that screen...there real dim....but it's an 8.9" widescreen......the pc is SMALL.....I can see this going into a dash in a more traditional way, if you could even say that about a pc screen in a dash that is

except he has 5% tint all around, and that it's secured with a top of the line alarm. But besides that, yes...

there's more security here than meets the eye

I am in two way comunication with the vehicle 99% of the time to start with....& don't think I would do these extensive mods without also going for extensive security....

besides that, one of the main reasons for my vehicle choice is to be low key.....if I had all this equiptment in a escalade on 24's then yes, it would be a huge target, but to the average joe it's just a minivan.....

this is also why I have avoided exterior shots of the truck...even changed my avitar from a picture of the van......just an extra precaution, but honestly the first guy who screwed with it got hurt & I think the next guy will too....it does suck that it's hard to have anything nice because some want to try
& take it from you, but I've been around & I know how to protect mine's peace.........

i thought i heard something about wireless broadband... 1st off, how do you get that, 2nd, how much is it?
2nd, you said you are in nearly constant communication with your vehicle.. I have a basic carputer setup with wifi and so on, how did you do that?
your setup looks awesome man.. keep up the good work..

my wireless broadband is from verizon,it's unlimited up& down $79.99 month + taxes + misc. fee's...around $100 a month all said & done........

my security communication is not through wifi or even anything to do with the computer...... I really don't want to go into too many details about the security, but if anyone does tamper with the truck I am notified in real time as to the nature of the disturbance........the would be attacker has a matter of seconds before I am all over it I can check the status of the vehicle by polling it at any time & it's set up to even wake me from sleeping.........the last time it came into play was when they were trying to tow it for a few parking tickets.......I was out there as fast as the guy could hook it up.......cost mer a few bucks, but the truck stayed right were it was.....
