what did your mother tell you about taken pictures drivin at 15mph, thats a pretty cool install. what is the screen in the headliner for?
This is my multimedia'd & pc'd minivan under construction
as far as the system goes;
alpine iva d300 touchscreen(chopped & modded for flush mount, no ejecting screens here, I'm going for that factory feel), alpine navigation & co-pilot live as a back up, alpine pxa h701 processor(this is a sick piece, highly recommended...), mcintosh amps(1,200 true watts rms), illusion audio compression loaded horn drivers, 10" illusion audio carbon fiber/neodymium shallow mount sub's in the FRONT doors(front stage in this car is pretty awsome), xm & soon sirius,single jl 13w6 sub in rear, to much to list...
rear seats get ps2 & gamecube & dvd, seperate tft touch pc screen for rear pasengers, icon 15.2" dropdown in the suede headliner(the reason for a rear view camera instead of a mirror, you wouldn't see anything through the mirror when that's down anyway )
pc is a "cube" that's been chopped with power supply & drives removed, powered by an opus 150, 2.8 p4 w/1gig ram,multiple hard drives ,verizon broadband wireless 24/7 unlimited access,blue tooth & wireless lan,illuminated zippy keyboards in both visors & a third in rear, for rear 7" vga touch monitor,lilliput 8" touchscreen up front (gotta replace this, not nearly bright enough to keep up with the alpine screens) I am going to switch out to a water cooled system to cut the noise down to zero, i experimented with a/c cooling, but condensation to much of an issue, & I may under clock a little to reduce temps & increase relibility, I don't want a fan buzzing in my center console...
EDIT: the p4 is being scrapped for a pentium m centrino setup, pics up soon
dynamat, dynamat, dynamat...
I did extensive work on this vehicle to quiet it & make it ride "mercedes like". I removed the dashboard & a/c box from the firewall & triple layered it & then recovered it with the factory pad, I thermal wrapped & insulated the whole a/c heater box to quiet the airflow & insulate, hood liner & fender liners sound proofed,the whole van is dynamated, foamed & padded top to bottom, in & out, she rides NICE, at least as good as a cadillac, interior is custom katzkin two tone leather with montana embroidered in the seats & perferated inserts, headliner & roof is dynamated, then 2" acoustic foam mylar lined & suede
you are looking at over 6 months of work here, & there is much more to this than meets the eye. the security system is comprised of onstar & a high end wireless two way remote system that uses spread spectrum tecnology for increadable range, & gps tracking in the works
well, wadayathink?
EDIT: my pictures were lost on my server & rather than starting a new thread, I figured I'd just edit this to add pictures back,they may not be in order for the few posts to make sense, but here they are starting with a before:

肚子笑痛了
S60 Install
headliner front monitor is primarily for rear view
this is an idea of how much dynamat was used & to what extent...., there is alot more covering the whole roof & everything else really, the roof also has a layer of 1" accoustic foil backed foam between the roof & headliner, when heavy rain hits it it sounds like wood.

Watch out with the onstar. I read something a couple months back they got in trouble for allowing Police/FBI to listen in on conversations in peoples cars (since they have a mic to communicate with the operator) without a warrant or other proper authority to do so. Not that I think your dealing drugs or anything but just for the sheer lack of protecting peoples privacy I will never buy a car with onstar.Originally Posted by turbocad6
