2001 VW Jetta CarPc Install

Ok,
So I have the first quotation in for the bezel, and the engineering co are wanting £289 GBP to machine this thing up based on Glow's drawing!!!! I WILL get this price down to something reasonable!

Does anyone have Autocad and are able to knock this thing up into a 3d model, showing toolpath for the angles and the blending of the angles in the corners?

Please can anyone who migth be interested in one of these drop me an email?

The carpc is installed in a VW Jetta TDI, upped to 165hp - 380nm
Brock b4 8,5 * 17" 2-part polished wheels and bridgestone 225/45 Tires, some special exterior and interior and a Special KW winding alighting gear.
for the xenarc tft i have made a aluminium case (handmade brushed look for the vwgolf4 r32 interieur) that i can adjust the angle electrical(for the better contrast of the display).

Hey dude , you made a nice job and very neat, I like the touch screen logo. I have a jetta VW 2000 myself and I'm thinking of doing the same, but I would have to do a lot of research and also I'm looking forward to buy that book "Build Your Own car PC" @ Barnes and Nobles.

Nice install... I have got a Jetta/bora myself and i am doing something similar to you... but I was just wondering how did you mount the stereo up there. If you got some pictures it would be very nice. Thank you!

@Jon-G (Bezel = the frame of the screen I guess - sorry for the bad english I am from Europe) Sorry I am using a diferent screen... and my interior is black and I like it black so it stays like that.
I was really interested in the headunit mounting/cd-player mounting... is it glued or how is it up there... Because I to do not have any space left for it on the dash and I am looking for diferent places to put it... GLOW had a very cool trick (please share it!) ... I would like to know more... thank you.

oh sorry mate I havent seen glows install in the flesh. Dont really understand why u need a head unit once you have a car pc?! but each to their own

Well i need my head unit for the car speakers... I do have a Sony 4X55 mos ideeal for that job... and I would like my sound sistem as it is ... I do my car pc because I want mp3, video, gps, bluetooth, ... on it all in one thing ...
If I put my screen in there is no more space for the head unit(front panel that is) witch i have to put either under the screen, either where Glow put his ...or find another place for it.
I like Glow's setup... and the cables would not be a problem as he mentioned 2 lan wires do the job... but the mounting...we still have some bumps in the road :-)

I would like to ask Glow about the wiring on his HU aswell how didhe hard wire the cables into the face plate of the HU and the rest of the deck?

@Jetta 4 TDI R - First I thnink that Glow isn't present here anymore... I do not know why!!! But I did not get any answer at my question! Second Glow sayd that he linked the "face plate" of the HU to the HU by means of ftp cables, I guess he soldered them directly to the pins of the HU and the pins of the "face plate". Sorry for my bad english it is not my mother tongue!
Hope I could be of help ... although my question remains... how did Glow stick the "face plate" of the HU there... I still haven't found that out! If anyone could help on that please write. Thank you
