Very very nice work. Cool ideea to mount it deep in the dash.
What kind of car is that?
Hey,
Well, despite being very unwilling to posting the setup to the world I have decided to post some limited pics of the setup
Setup is an Xenarc Display, AMD 2000+ Processor powering this bad boy.
Ok, here are the pics
Entire Dash - Notice the holes below the display. Unfinished, but fabricating small 1/4" (ya, i think thats the size) - during test fits it works like a dream

A closeup - Notice that the display is not actually attached the dash, but physically mounted to the car where i had to use special screw driver attachment just to get to the mounting holes i made

For those who have been woundering about glare - heres a shot with part of the screen covered with Sun. (though must admit the sun isn't the strongest this time of the year)
And finally, a navigation shot using what else but Routis - wheres 05?

pics dont work anymore but what I seen earlier looked good.
Very nice... Recessing the screen looks much more OEM than most other installations - i like it!
Looks like it might help a little with the glare too...
Thx guys. The car is a Hyundai Santa Fe. And for those looking for future cars, it is fairly easy to work with (least a lot easier then my previous car). And don't let the name destract you, it is well built. If one was to use the via itx sol'n, i'd be willing to bet that you can fit the entire computer inside the console

nice set up buddy
To make it look even better:
Primer and paint the airconditiner counsol plastic with the same color. You used "flat black" I am guessing....Try vynil black, if you take time between layers and do thin layers, then it will look excelent! like its made out of acrylic.!!!Trust me, we experimented with tons of crap, even truck bed lining!
try if you have the will

yunusyu - ya, i didn't paint the bottom half yet specifically because of people like you giving off the great tips. Yea, it was a flat black coat with a top layer of this sparkle stuff.
For the vynil black, any specific brand you recommend or should any do? Cause if it works as good as you say, i'll just have to redo the top half as well.
SEMS or Plastikote
and its "vinyl" (aka vinyl dye)
