looks nice. more pics???

I finally got this thing look good enough to show it although the photo lacks quality.
VIA EPIA-M 9000 (vga & sound on board)
like XENARC TSV 700 TFT DISPLAY.
WIN 98me
POWER: 75W INVERTER TO 150W ATX PS.
(Not a nice match but epia draws such a low current that it works)
(PlanniNg for an OPUS 150)
MP3 SOFTWARE: Custom made with delphi 5.0
MSI VOX USB2 TV TUNER.
(It was so difficult to install and make this thing work that prevents me from
upgrading WINme to W2000.)
Now searching :
Greek Maps and GPS software. Anyone from Greece?
Now developing
Figured out how to connect supersonic sensors and feed the signals into PC via RS232. I plan to make a parking aid and obstacle detection system that pops up and shows everything on sceen.

Download destinator and get the Greek map from www.ngi.gr
Installation look's very nice...good work!!!!!!
If you have any problem mail me!
oops!!!!
From now on you must have dest hardware and make an account to download the map!!!!
Mail me to give you the map i already have it!!!
Why don't you use a rear cam and you want to use sensor???
But if you want parking sensor with visual and sound signal check this

DjBac is also a member here in Greece....
Thanks Peter and Unique, I' ll mail you. Do you alredy have gps hardware working well with destinator or have any recomendation?
Yesterday i connected an amlified tv tuner antenna...It went bad (reverse wiring). The amps went throuth the amplifier > audio card line in > audio card line out > headunit (Blaupunkt Modena) and fried the aux in. It seems that Epia-M is undamaged.50-80euro to repair the headunit.
For your question about parking sensors:
1) with a reverse image camera its hard to tell the exact distance.
2) All parking solutions in the market (including the industrial allready in cars)measure 30cm to 150cm distance and most of them with only sound alert.
Supersonic sensors i want to use can measure 3cm - 100cm with 1% error and can easilly be fired with a microcontoller and feed the signal to rs232 port. Then, via software i can produce the image of P307 on screen and have the exact distance of every sensor and corner of the car. I' ll program software with pop up windows and alert sounds for different measurements. Something like a radar.
Johnnie, been wanting to implement something like this but i am more of a structures and materials than electronics man so i will be watching your progress! I was thinking it would be good to also have some side sensors to pick upt he kerb so yyou can build a complete image of the obstacles around the car and protect those alloys! I live in a city where you have to park in spaces with about 4 inches spare front and back and in narrow streets which makes it even harder so this would be pretty useful to me. Have you seen those systems which actually park your car for you? they control the electric power steering while you just press the predals. I am nt suggestig this but they do have a neat feature where they can detect a suitable space as you drive past slowly!
The only thing that stops me from constructing right now is cost.
Each ss sensor = 30euros
it can also be used a SHARP IR SENSOR 10-80cm = 12Euros.
Microcontroller = 100E
Need 7 or 8 of them. I think of supersonic at center front and 2 at center back and 4 IR each at a corner. Thats ~250Euros
Since the microcontroller will be in the trunc then wirring to the back bumber will be easy. But wiring the front sensors all the way back i don't know how it will affect their performance/response.
Another issue is the Epia's M com ports that i've heard of having problems.
Add also the work that should be done to mount the sens to the bumber...
So priorities now is
Destinator3, Greek maps and GPS hardware.
Griffin powermate
OPUS 150
i used DeLorme Earthmate GPS (USB) with Destinator 2 and it works fine so i guess it will work with Destinator 3 as well.
check the GPS forum for more info
Great work so far Jonnie.
