    83 Jeep Cherokee

Here is my beast, its a 1983 jeep cherokee limited. I have finally installed my new setup.

    The hardware specs are:
    15 inch touchscreen (ebay, $200AU)
    P3 800mhz, 128mb ram, 20gb slimline, geforce 2 MX ($35AU)
    BU-303 (ebay, $100AU)
    Inverter ($70AU)

Total cost around $420 counting misc things that I used that I had lying around at home. The computer is sitting under the front passenger seat.

For the software I am using my custom made program. (Still incomplete, but is getting there) Before anyone asks it is pretty much built for my specific setup and needs, which is why I am using it instead of someone elses solution. It has some basic features such as music, movie, GPS using the destinator SDK.

If anyone is interested I would be happy to upload the source code for it once its abit more complete, some if isnt very well written and really needs abit more work to encapsulate the classes and stuff more.

    Anyways here are some photos:

My Jeep (red one :P )

Loading car software (nick'ed "CarBomb" - long story)

    Main screen

    Music screen

Intergrated destinator SDK, uses the DLL from Ninja Monkeys frontend.

Unfortunatly the flash has made a huge reflection on the LCD, but you get the idea

I have vision for future expansion, these being:
Integrate the LCD more into the dash using a bezel from a monitor and fabricating it into the dash.
Clean up the wires (Not hard, but I was in a hurry before we went out to get it in)
    Further software development
Replacing the radio with the cdrom, IR and other stuff.

15 inch screen? You don't play games!

The pics have all been removed, is there any way to see them at this point (Either on an external site, or possibly have you email them to me)? I'm interested in doing a setup in my '91 Cherokee, and am seeking inspiration.
