If you have any questions on the 3 series install, feel free to ask. Even with your crappy picture it looks like the screen is in there good. I'd like to see some better pics if you can get them.
Well there isnt much room, there is the heating duct rightly behind the box so u have to work with what you have in that little space. I plan on cutting the box cuz everything is connected so you just cant remove the inside, well thats how it is in my 92 i dont know about yours, but im pretty sure it would follow the same. The computer i have is not loud at all, its amazingly quite and plus with the door shut on the glove it would reduce it even more, plus i have nice audiobahn subs always pumpin in the trunk . I will be doing the glovebox mod tomorrow most likely, i still have to upload the pictures of the touchscreen to my site i will do that later tonite.

    catch ya guys later!

My computer's actually amazingly loud. When I fold the rear seats down you think there's a party going on in the trunk. But god bless BMW and their soundproofing. When I put the seat back up I can't hear a thing.

Of course the whol thing suddenly stopped working at all tonight due to some flukey video problem, but oh well. Can't expect everything to work perfectly.

Isn't that yellow so damn obnoxious?!!

I couldn't stand the Earthmate's color screaming STEAL ME, so I picked up some PlastiKote at Home Depot, removed the top of the case and painted that sucker black! Problem solved. =)

Yes, painting the Earthmate is on the list of things to do, most deffinately. Why the hell they picked the brightest *** most obnoxious yellow on the planet is beyond me.

Maybe they think the bright yellow makes it easier for the satalite to find it. hahaha

    Skipjacks,

thats some good work there. I am a lowly paid engineer and can only afford a vauxhall vectra! : ) Not a BMW like you.... Anyway, in my car that is exactly the same sort of location i could mount my screen. Very low and in front of the gear stick. My only concern here is that the screen would be obscured in certain gears. Also, how do find the low position install in terms of visibility? Do you find it hard driving and looking down? But then again its an easy position to put it, anywhere else in the dash would be a nightmare.

    Thoughts please

Well I only had it up and running for about a week until my motherboard blew. But in that week everything seemed okay. I mean you can't sit and watch TV on it (nor should anyone even try) while you're driving, but for glacing down to see where you are it's perfectly fine. And the shifter doesn't get in the way at all.
