oh, btw, you can do that with a hacked encoder from an old mouse wheel as well. You don't need the phidgets encoder for that.

Ok... Nothing is installed yet... Just changed car and I like to have everything working (almost) before proceeding to install in car... I can make girder work with the example... I see the box with the infos it reads from the phidget...

It would be nice of you to send it to me... I could check it out...

I know... I already got 2 phidgets encoder (second one was a replacement but figured out it was just the usb cable)...

I'm still looking for a PERFECTLY sized lcd, but it seems like such a thing doesn't exist =(

How do you find the touch screen usability with the screen recessed so much? My original plan was for a very similar hood and recessed depth but I'm rethinking that since I find that I'm having to overstretch to interact with the screen and it makes it dangerous for me to try and do stuff whilst driving.

Yeah, the touch screen is pretty much useless if I'm driving. It's really only accessible by passengers or only if I'm stopped somewhere. That's why I used the OEM buttons to recreate a 'real' interface.

I am very impressed with the install to say the least. If only there was a way to keep the LCD as incognito as PC to keep the car stereo thieves out of your worries altogether.

Am hoping to find out the type and size of your wheels, I think they are good fit to the MR2 and am hopeful to pick up a set myself.
