i wish i had the amunt of space do an install like that.. but i got a hilux pickup so no boot for me

all mines under the front seat..
also where about u from?? the 96 surfs in australia look nothing like that and the dash is completely different.. its like my dash.. wich sucks cus i only got 2 din room u got 3

Install looks awesome, an inspiration. You gotta love that triple-DIN, kind of rare.
Do you have any trouble with the hard drive skipping or being damaged because it is so close to the gate? Or CD changer? Must you be careful not to slam the gate?

No problems at all. Plenty of room behind the tailgate, there's a couple of inches clearance back there.
