2005 Subaru 2.5RS... its aliveeee!!

Epia M10000
120gb hd
512 mb ram
Xenarc 7" TS

Stereo:
Front Speakers: Infiniti 6002si
Rear Speakers: Infiniti 4002i
Amp: Alpine 4 channel 240W
(signal send from onboard surround sound, with an audigy 2 sound card on the way)

Vitals:
I tore the entire subaru apart, every interior piece was removed... ala pimp my ride

. Rewired the speakers completely, did not use ANY stock wiring. i get NO noise interference and it sounds better than any factory system (benzes, bmw's, lexi included) i have ever heard.

the only way to do a COMPLETE system is to tear the car up...lol

pretty much any aftermaret system with any amount of decent tuning will sound better than any factory system....don't care what the make of the car...OEM stereo is nothing....hehehe

glad to see someone else who is interested in the stereo as well as the computer!

the screen looks pretty stock there...do you have any upclose shots?

yeah, it was crappy weather outside today, so there wasnt good enough lighting to get a close up shot without using the flash. ill get some soon. btw, im loving this thing.

Awesome, looks very nice. Can I ask how you went about mounting the LCD? Did you hack up the case at all?

for mounting the lcd heres what i did. for the impreza you HAVE TO open up the case, so i did that. then you test fit just the front panel of the case in the dash, i had to dremel some bits off there and i got it to fit just right. then i bondo-glassed (bondo reinforced with fiberglass hairs) the front of the lcd panel to the back of the dash. then test fit and grind down the bondo till it fits. all you have to do now is put the components back in and reinforce the loose board. i used industrial strength rubber bands and some brackets to make it work right.

How's the glare during daytime? Was originally thinking about mounting the screen where the clock is and fabricating a cover for it, but I'm now leaning more towards the cd changer location.

the glare isnt too bad, but i havent experienced a full sunny day, so time will tell.

also, props to frodo for the awesome front-end. its so stable!

Nice install.

I like the beefy speaker wire. I just used standard 16 gauge wire I think it was to hook up my amp. Funny thing is, I think it sounds better than the stock WRX head unit with the sound output from the M1000 integrated audio.

2 Questions:

What skin are you using for FrodoPlayer? It looks pretty cool.

What is the ignition switch for?

the skin for frodoplayer is the brushed aluminum skin. if you go into the frodoplayer forum, its in the skins sticky thread.

Since i am very paranoid about having the computer kill my battery i put in a mechanical stop. in the opus powerline i have a relay. attached to the ignition line i have a pac-tr7. when the ignition is on, it lets power go to the relay, thus powering the opus. when the ign is turned off, it waits 2 minutes, then cuts power to the relay, thus cutting power to the opus. that little switch there is just inline between the ignition wire and the opus, for when i have to move the car for like 1 minute and dont want the computer starting and stopping.
