i haven't looked but i'm sure i can figure it out. I have a pdf copy of the factory service manuals which has a complete wiring diagram for the car.
I will try (read 20% likley) to find some time to take a look at it over the next week or so.
Yea, I was thinking about using the stock heater switches too, but I looked at the switch diagram and I got all confused. Do you know to wire things up to use the stock heater switch?

Dude, where did you get that switch !
I want to put a computer in my '05 STi and I want a switch like that for my install. It looks like it would fit that space right next to my intercooler spray switch. I've seen switches like that before... Are they all a standard size or did you have to find one that particularly fit?
I got the switch from FrozenCPU for about $15 (http://www.frozencpu.com/scan/se=Ele...nu_search.html) , although I saw the same switch (but without the LED in the switch) at autozone for pretty cheap. I had to make a bracket so that the switch would fit tightly in that spot. It fits okay, but it needs something to brace itself on so it'll stay there. I just used a spare door hinge and used a dremel to cut out the size I needed. I attached a picture of the bracket that I made from the underside. Also, if you look at the switch picture above, you'll see a yellow arrow. That points to the bracket I made. Let me know if you have any other questions.
just to let all you scooby owners know, Lowe's has a switch pretty close to the size, little smaller, of those empties that is a flat black and low profile that would go great in the car. look a little more oem... they didnt have them on the website, but they were in my local store where all of the other electrical connector and toggle switches were, in a red box...
Thats very clean...I hope to get started on mines very soon but im a Rookie to this. So im seeing how other people do this. I have yet to see anyone with an Elantra do it yet though.
As far as the seat heater switch goes, it looks like it should be fairly simple, but I'd have to look at the actual switch to confirm that it is. I've just been looking at the diagram, not the item.
If you hold the switch so that you are looking at the bottom of it with the locking tab up, the pins are 1 and 2 on the top, 3 and 4 on the bottom, from left to right.
For this use, bring power in on 2, then connect the computer between 4 and ground to turn it on with the low setting. For the high setting, pin 1 and ground should work.. If you also ground pin 3, the light will illuminate when you put it in either position.
hope this helps some!
Hmmm....interesting. I think I might go order one and see if it works. I'll keep you posted.
